Based at Buchanan Field airport (CCS) in Concord, California, N324RX is an Airbus H135 operated by REACH Air Medical Services in partnership with the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District. The aircraft was manufactured in 2018 by Airbus Helicopters Deutschland. It is powered by two Pratt and Whitney 206B3 turbo-shaft engines, each generating 621 shaft-horsepower at take off. The aircraft has a top speed of 178 miles per hour with a service ceiling of 20,000 feet and a working range of 395 miles.
The crew consists of a pilot, a critical care nurse, and a fire captain/ paramedic and provides expedited delivery of advanced life support for patient transport twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
