Falcon 30 is a Eurocopter AS350B3 operated by the Placer County Sheriff Air Support Unit and based at Auburn airport (KAUN) in Auburn, CA.

The unit’s primary mission is to provide air support throughout the county including routine patrol, crime suppression, surveillance, crime scene photography and video, slingload cargo operations, homeland security and narcotics operations, and search and rescue.

Falcon 30 is equipped with a hoist that allows for extrications and insertions in rescue and ground support roles. It also carries an advanced avionics package that includes a glass cockpit, GPS moving map systems, multi-channel communications systems, public address system, satellite phone, high-definition infrared imaging camera, and a high-powered searchlight.
